First defeat of pre-season for Granada CF, against Millwall FC in London

Granada CF concluded the overseas stage of pre-season preparations with a defeat in London, 3-0 against Millwall FC at The Den. Two key second half minutes proved decisive in the final outcome.

Millwall FC were dominant in the first half, although there were few clear scoring chances until Wallace fired the home side ahead in the 27th minute. Nevertheless, Granada CF improve gradually and looked solid at the back, as the game reached the interval.

Chances of gaining a positive result were effectively extinguished early in the second half. Williams doubling the lead in the 51st minute and a header by O'Brien in the 53rd minute, putting the hosts three ahead.

Despite the score, Granada CF continued to work hard, looking for goals after manager Oltra made changes from the substitutes bench. Puertas and Montoro coming closest to finding the back of the net. Likewise, David Grande and Joselu were a fraction from connecting with a superb cross by Víctor Díaz.

The Granada CF squad return to Spain tonight, as work continues for the second phase of pre-season. The next friendly encounter, this coming Thursday away at Marbella FC.
